In-Home Day Program

Mountain Shadows In-Home Day Program (Mountain Shadows IHDP) supports adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities by enriching their lives through promoting choice, new experiences and teaching functional skills in order to gain their maximum independence. Mountain Shadows IHDP’s focus is on choices and goals participants have in their life. We support this as a day service program through:
▪ Quality Services
▪ Innovative Curriculum
▪ Individualized Support and Services
▪ Relationship Development

Our staff works with each person to help them reach their own individual potential while engaging in activities that are stimulating and enriching. Our highly qualified staff members support each person to increase and improve their social and functional skills while supporting health maintenance, in accordance with their own Individual Services Plan (ISP) developed in partnership with the participant, San Diego Regional Center, the participant’s circle of support and Mountain Shadows staff.

It is the purpose of Mountain Shadows IHDP to provide the supports necessary for participants to engage in new experiences including vocational and self-advocacy skills. We believe that regardless of an individual’s medical condition there are methods to be able to customize a day program curriculum that will provide a positive experience to each participant. Mountain Shadows IHDP maintains the values that are central to the concept of person-centered support (e.g., choice, individuality, respect, and social interactions). These values enable a participant, with support, to shape their future.

All lessons plans are personalized to meet individual, cultural, environmental and medical needs of the participant. The staff to participant ratio when services are delivered is 1:1.
