John Martindale, CFP®, is a Managing Director at Beacon Pointe and is responsible for high-net-worth relationships and new business development. With over three decades of conceptual financial planning experience, John is well-versed in complicated estates and retirement income planning. As a relationship manager, John advises his clients on wealth accumulation and preservation concepts. He is sought after for his skills in investment and portfolio analysis, tax planning, real estate transactions, insurance analysis, estate planning strategies, and philanthropic giving.
Prior to joining Beacon Pointe, John founded Ailsa Capital (which merged with Beacon Pointe in 2023). John graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and obtained his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation and certification from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.
John places great value in his local and global community and has been active in non-profit organizations since 1988. In 1992, John co-founded the annual Mountain Shadows Golf Classic to benefit the Mountain Shadows Community Homes in Escondido, California, where he has procured over $800,000 in charitable gifts. He currently serves as Past President of the Canyon Education Foundation (Sandy, Utah), where funds are raised to support students and teachers in the classroom, providing college scholarships to graduating seniors. Some of the non-profit organizations he’s had the pleasure of assisting include, The Kidney Foundation of Utah, The Forever Young Foundation, Snowbird Adaptive Sports, Canyons Education Foundation, and the Mountain Shadows Foundation. John enjoys international travel, rounds of golf, and spending time with his wife Tresa, four children, and 3 grandchildren.
