As the sea cast its net of wonder upon Jason, he now enfolds his clients in a net of safety through his work.
A partner at William Mahoney & Abbott, LLP, Jason advises and assists clients with estate planning and trust administration.
“I prepare wills and trusts. I advise clients on planning for incapacity and death. That is the main focus of my practice.
“I also help those same clients with other legal needs they may have. My goal is to help them with all their legal needs.”
Knowing your loved ones will be taken care of, and that the legacy you leave behind is the one you want, can bring peace of mind and confidence in the future.
“Meeting with people and helping them with something that has been weighing on their mind, often for a long time, is my favorite thing. I help clients in planning their estates, looking ahead to the future, and making sure their financial affairs will be taken care of should something happen to them.
"My clients can rest assured their finances, their healthcare, and their children are all taken care of. They can rest assured there’s nothing to worry about if something happens to them.”
Jason’s expertise in estate planning and trust administration includes designing estate planning documents such as revocable trusts, wills, advanced healthcare directives, and financial power of attorney. He also does succession planning, and advanced estate and gift planning, which includes irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, qualified personal resident trusts, and charitable gift giving and planning.
Jason holds one aspect of estate planning particularly close to his heart. He develops estate plans for special needs individuals.
“There are so many different variables that go into estate planning for individuals with special needs," adds Jason. "I really enjoy working with these individuals and their families, and seeing the relief in their eyes as we come to decisions to ensure a secure future.”
Jason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University, and a Law Degree, cum laude, from Chapman University. He was awarded his LL.M in Taxation from New York University.
Jason is licensed by the State Bar of California and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association.
